(Hybrid Materials 2013)

Join us at the Third International Conference on Multifunctional, Hybrid and Nanomaterials (Hybrid Materials 2013) which will take place from the
3-7 March 2013 in Sorrento (near Naples), Italy. Spanning five days, the conference will bring together over 900 people with a shared interest in hybrid materials giving you a unique chance to network and interact with your international colleagues.

Submit abstracts by 3 September – click here to submit your abstract

We welcome abstract submissions for oral and/or poster presentations on the following topics:

  • Biohybrids and biomaterials (bioinspired, biomimetic materials, biomineralisation, biosensors, biocatalysts, green materials, synthetic/biopolymer hybrids, nanomedicine, drug delivery, biotemplates, bioreactors, living materials, bionanocomposites)
  • Functional hybrid nanomaterials, nanocomposites and their applications (sol-gel derived hybrids, functional hybrid nanoparticles and nanotubes, functional nanostructures, selforganisation of nanoobjects, nanocomposites; energy, environmental and structural hybrids, applications)
  • Functional porous materials (zeolites, MOFs, COFs, mesoporous materials, macrocellular solids, hierarchically structured materials, clathrates, membranes, carbon-related functional porous materials)
Deadline for abstract submission is 3 September 2012

Energy, the environment and human health have emerged as strategic priorities not only in research but in all aspects of our lives. Hybrid materials have already demonstrated good promise in addressing and offering solutions in each of these priority areas.

This interdisciplinary conference will bring together, at a truly international level, people with shared interests in hybrid materials, including:

  • Polymer chemists, physicists and engineers
  • Biomaterials chemists, physicists and engineers
  • Organic chemists
  • Inorganic chemists
  • Solid state chemists
  • Sol-gel chemists
  • Composites scientists
  • Colloid chemists and physicists
  • Zeolite, meso- and microporous materials scientists
  • Broad nano- and materials scientists

The First International Conference on Multifunctional, Hybrid and Nanomaterials (Tours, March 2009) offered 171 oral and 603 poster presentations in three parallel symposia and attracted 922 participants (including 303 students) from 54 countries. The Second International Conference on Multifunctional, Hybrid and Nanomaterials (Strasbourg, March 2011) offered 198 oral and 707 poster presentations and attracted 962 participants from 64 countries as well as 15 commercial exhibitors.

The exciting programme for 2013 will consist of 191 oral presentations (5 Plenary Lectures, 3 Tutorials, 33 Invited and Featured Talks, 150 Contributed Oral Presentations) and several hundred Poster Presentations.  There will be three long Poster Sessions (on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday) – each consisting of 2 parts in order to offer the poster presenters better opportunity to attract attention to their work.
